ABOUT Lemon.
From a quiet hamlet in Northamptonshire Lemon is surrounded by rural lands with a deep influence of their experiences, family, and the relationship with their own culture. Folklore, history, and costume are repeating themes through their images, creating and capturing performances to encapsulate the passion they have to reconnect their own roots to something thats widely overlooked.
Lemon’s current project ‘Forgotten Dance on Faerie Hills’ highlights the fading Celtic festival of Samhain, educating others on the ancient and unseen traditions originating from this land. A focus on B&W darkroom printing has engulfed their work, exploring traditional papers and materials along with the alternate ways film can be printed and displayed, strengthening chosen subjects in each unique image.
When studying at Arts University Bournemouth, they left with a foundation diploma in 2022 and will graduate with a bachelor’s degree in photography in 2025. Lemon’s darkroom prints have been published in Divide Magazine and have been exhibited the BAD space in Bournemouth, and in the upcoming summer of 2025, the Copeland Gallery in London.
